Los Angeles, CA (November 11, 2020) \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>As our great and diverse nation begins its healing process after years of divisive rhetoric, racial injustice and violence towards people of color, we understand it is imperative to continue to create opportunities for our communities that lead to upward mobility. And so today, we begin our campaign to empower girls from Latinx, Black and Indigenous communities through the creation of a scholarship fund in order to assist these future leaders in realizing their dreams. We are inspired that for the very first time in our nation’s history, both women and girls of color are able to see themselves in the highest positions of our land.\u00a0

Guerrera Marketing & PR<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and owner\u00a0Loren Medina’s<\/strong>\u00a0non-profit organization,\u00a0Travel With Purpose<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0will be partnering up with Latinx owned women’s clothing & lifestyle streetwear apparel brand,\u00a0Viva la Bonita<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to launch our very own scholarship program. Created by\u00a0Rachel Gomez<\/strong>, a Latina born and raised in the San Fernando Valley,\u00a0Viva La Bonita<\/strong>\u00a0is rooted in self-empowerment with an emphasis on the Latina Community.\u00a0

The\u00a0Guerrera x TWP x VLB Scholarship Fund<\/strong>\u00a0will be an ongoing campaign. Applicants can email us their stories explaining why and what they need financial assistance for and how much they need to accomplish their goal. Once an applicant is chosen to receive a scholarship,\u00a0Travel With Purpose<\/strong>\u00a0[501(c)3] will make a donation directly to the institution, company or person providing the specified services.\u00a0*No monies will be donated directly to the scholarship recipients in order to ensure the legitimacy of the entries.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0To apply to the\u00a0Guerrera x TWP x VLB Scholarship Fund\u00a0<\/strong>please send a detailed email to\u00a0travelwithpurposejourneys@gmail.com<\/a>. Scholarship winners will be chosen at the end of each campaign cycle and\/or once we meet our designated financial goals.\u00a0

Together we will be launching an exclusive line of merch of which 60% of proceeds will be donated to our scholarship fund. Through the purchase of the\u00a0GUERRERA x VLB x TWP tee<\/strong>\u00a0and\/or through a monetary donation via our\u00a0Go Fund Me campaign<\/strong><\/a>, you can change the course of the lives of young\u00a0guerreras<\/em>\u00a0of color in our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT TRAVEL WITH PURPOSE<\/u><\/strong>Guerrera Marketing & PR <\/em><\/strong>owner, Loren Medina, founded the non-profit organization Travel With Purpose<\/strong> in 2014 which focuses on financially empowering young girls and women who are currently oppressed and marginalized. Travel With Purpose<\/strong> has raised funds and worked directly with girls victims of sex trafficking in Cambodia and the Philippines, impoverished women in Haiti, and Syrian women and children who currently living as refugees in Jordan. In addition, Ms. Medina mentored a young woman from South Central who was victim of sex trafficking via the non-profit organization Two Wings based in Los Angeles, CA. <\/em><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
