PRESS RELEASE GUERRERA MARKETING & PRLos Angeles, CA (November 11, 2020) – As our great and diverse nation begins its healing process after years of divisive rhetoric, racial injustice and violence towards people of color, we understand it is imperative to continue to create opportunities for our communities that lead to upward mobility. And so today, we begin our campaign to empower girls from Latinx, Black and Indigenous communities through the creation of a scholarship fund in order to assist these future leaders in realizing their dreams. We are inspired that for the very first time in our nation’s history, both women and girls of color are able to see themselves in the highest positions of our land. Guerrera Marketing & PR and owner Loren Medina’s non-profit organization, Travel With Purpose, will be partnering up with Latinx owned women’s clothing & lifestyle streetwear apparel brand, Viva la Bonita to launch our very own scholarship program. Created by Rachel Gomez, a Latina born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Viva La Bonita is rooted in self-empowerment with an emphasis on the Latina Community. “When I first discovered Viva La Bonita I fell in love with the brand and their message. Not only is the merch dope, it’s necessary. When I met Rachel and heard her story, I was even more motivated to work with them. She is someone I have a lot of respect for and a huge inspiration to girls and women of color. I’m looking forward to this partnership and to all the beautiful things we will achieve together,” affirms Loren Medina about the partnership. The Guerrera x TWP x VLB Scholarship Fund will be an ongoing campaign. Applicants can email us their stories explaining why and what they need financial assistance for and how much they need to accomplish their goal. Once an applicant is chosen to receive a scholarship, Travel With Purpose [501(c)3] will make a donation directly to the institution, company or person providing the specified services. *No monies will be donated directly to the scholarship recipients in order to ensure the legitimacy of the entries. Scholarship winners will be chosen at the end of each campaign cycle and/or once we meet our designated financial goals. Together we will be launching an exclusive line of merch of which 60% of proceeds will be donated to our scholarship fund.
